Karl Rove and all that jazz

School has been same old, same old. I am reading Gulliver’s Travels in class and reminded of watching the cartoon as a small one. Karl Rove will be here tonight. I wonder if that’s why its been so cold lately. Evil brings winter (Narnia reference). I actually know the student who’s picking him up from the airport- what would you talk about? I would be tempted to ask how it feels to be evil- probably not wise. Michael wanted me to throw a shoe at him but I don’t think I will, he’s not worth the shoe. Loved the panda pic! I will update again after my encounter with the devil…

Busy Busy

So after I left St. Olaf… well, I got home on Sunday, as you know, and then the next day John and I began our road tripping adventure.  We first drove to Spokane on Monday.  Then on Tuesday we went to WASU in the morning, waking up at 7AM Ew..!  and then in the afternoon we went to University of Idaho in Moscow ID.  It was way cute!  I really liked that town but not so much WASU.  We ended up staying the night in WASU b/c it’s only a 15 minute drive from Moscow and we knew people to stay with there.  Did you know WASU has a bar in their student union building?!  We went to it and after a full case study I am reporting that the rumors about excessive drinking on the WASU campus are not a myth.. it is pure fact.

The next day we woke up (slightly hung over), early, and drove to Twin Falls ID to stay with my aunt.  It was a nice visit.  I have to tell you about this show on TV though!  You should look it up on surf the channel…. It was a show about women who did not know they were pregnant tell they were having the baby!  I kid you not!!!  Some of them even got the surprise one day while sitting on the toilet…  I hope you can watch it, it was hilarious!  Look under the TLC channel if they have it.

Then on Thursday we drove to the Wyoming - Teton National Park and camped.  Fun but cold! Then we drove most of Friday into Yellowstone where we saw Old Faithful and camped again.  There are many many buffalo, which was neat.  We should go together sometime.  :)  Maybe next summer?  In our camp spot we met a traveling Swiss dude who hung out with us at our fire.  It was fun to meet a person from another country.  He is going to visit Seattle after Yellowstone and we may meet up with him here and show him around.

Then Saturday and Sunday were pretty much taken up with driving… Blah!  So now I’m back and starting school.  Sheesh!  Busy!  But all my classes seem really good.  I have really great professors.  But I miss you.  I wish we went to school closer together so we could meet up on the weekends… I will look into skype after I write you this.

PS: Tell me more about your Peru stuff!  What else did you find out?  Also, I want to play sardines now. I LOVE YOU!  ~Hannah

This is the French singer I was telling you about… I really like this song so I wanted to share with you.  Her name is Constance Amiot.  Enjoy!

Since your visit

Not much has happened. I’ve just gotten back into the swing of classes again. I played sardines with 5 girls from my corridor this evening and then watched 72 minutes of the film Cruel Intentions on megavideo. I hate the 72-minute rule! Pretty boring…Last night, Karl and Brianna (Brian and Anna) and I watched all but 30 minutes of The Godfather. Its way, way too long and we all fell asleep (at 11:30). I’ve also been researching the history of Peru for my class. Fun fact: Peru went to war with Spain over the rights to bird poop- not kidding. Also, Matt visits next Wednesday so, the futon will be out once again. Not much else going on- boring is nice I guess.

And you didn’t put me out- I had a great time! I’m glad you got a firsthand taste of St. Olaf.

Yaaay!  I have had a really good time visiting with you this trip.  :)   Thank you for letting me into your space for so long.  I hope that I did not put you out too much… does that sentence make sense?

Hectic JCing

So, being a JC in training = crazy art projects + group bonding + boring meeting…all in a week! Tomorrow the first years’ descend on campus. I am in charge of 26 girls and have learned four names already. Two are international students, one from Turkey and one from Vietnam…totally cool.  I also learned how to deal with crazy scary situations (like drug busts and depression) and the hall cheer. We will have to demonstrate it (the hall cheer) for you when you arrive! So Tired…

life is crazy!

Uuuummmm… so… things have been really really crazy lately i have just been going and going!!!  That party we had on Saturday was a blast!  I wish you were there for it.  We had close to 75 people (i think) come.  There was alot of shenanigans like.. some boy tried to kiss me but I just slowly backed away. HA! And rejected him.  Although, I am not exaggerating when I say my liver has been damaged… I’m just hoping it will bounce back before your birthday.  The roomies and I also painted our house.  The kitchen is a cool green color and the living room is red and light brown.  Then, b/c Tim really wants our house to be a sweet place to hangout in we completely cleaned the garage and painted the walls a dark brown.  It looks awesome!

Oh and I almost forgot to tell you… I now have red hair!  Chelsea did it at her school.  :)  It’s a good change.   So far my life as a ginger has been hectic… some creeper followed me around at PETCO… needless to say it was scary and I never want to see him again.  Oh!  And for my b-day John purchased me a pet Betta fish.  He is blue and green and a little red.  He is really beautiful.  I thought it would be funny to name him fruit fly but that just may be to stupid and kind of immature for a 22 year old to do…. But… maybe not?  Anyways I will post a picture of him in a little bit.  I love you and miss you!  Hope to hear from you soon.
